Belle the
Liberty Bear

It last tolled on February 22, 1846 in honor of George
Washington's birthday, but the symbolism of the Liberty Bell in
Philadelphia's Independence Hall still rings true today. Steiff pays tribute
to this monument to freedom with a special 13 inch commemorative bear
appropriately named Belle. In her paws, Belle holds a collectible
die-cast reproduction of the famous bell, which cracked severely upon its
last ringing. In keeping with the historic theme, Belle is sewn from
cinnamon-colored, distressed mohair for a vintage look. Subtle airbrushing
around her eyes, paw pads and on her body adds to her antique-like appeal.
Her slightly oversized cupped ears, sparkling shoe-button eyes and
enchanting expression make her one spectacular bear.
